Tell us about your company:

Gerber, LLC is a one-of-a-kind advisory firm working exclusively with first generation entrepreneurs to help define and achieve their personal and professional goals. With over 25 years in business Gerber has built a dedicated process to improve the entrepreneur’s business, cash flow, and happiness factor. We’re helping business owners understand the entrepreneurial journey and sequencing of growing a business and providing the entrepreneurial ecosystem they need to get there.

In working with over 200 first generation entrepreneurs Gerber built The Emerging Entrepreneur Experience (EEE) after recognizing a gap in guidance between the startup community and established entrepreneurs. EEE was created for the entrepreneurs at least two years in business. The program acts as a guidebook for business owners to better navigate business growth with less cost and less heartache. Gerber applies the best practices learned with Gerber clients to EEE, providing a tried and true roadmap to emerging entrepreneurs.

What motivated your organization to get involved with NAWBO:

Gerber was built on the belief that first generation entrepreneurs are the leaders and creators of the world who have limitless potential to improve the lives of others. – and we know NAWBO attracts the female entrepreneurs who do just that!

Gerber, LLC believes in helping entrepreneurs build rewarding businesses and providing the necessary tools to maintain sustainable businesses so getting involved with NAWBO was a no-brainer. Female entrepreneurs are a force to be reckoned with, and we want to stand by them as they thrive. We are proud to support the largest chapter in the nation!

What does your company offer NAWBO members and why is this important to them?

Gerber and EEE provide the customized guidance entrepreneurs need to go from working IN the business day to day to working ON their business to grow and thrive.

This is important to NAWBO members because all entrepreneurs are guilty of getting wrapped up in the daily operations of their business, losing sight of what they are passionate about.

Gerber provides the clarity to uncover problem areas in their business that need attention. We get the entrepreneur back on track to hone in on what their “why” really is and establish a solid foundation to build upon.

What is the one best practice you’ve learned from working with businesses in your company that our members should know?

The one best practice we’ve learned in working with first generation entrepreneurs is to not ignore the basics. Something as simple as working off of a ‘working, strategic business plan’ is often overlooked or ignored. We have so many emerging entrepreneurs who will come to us after we go through building their business plans and express how it changed their relationship with their business. In that same vein, we spend a lot of time talking with entrepreneurs about how their business impacts their lifestyle goals; that integration conversation is one of the first things we talk to clients about but always makes a huge impact.
